To remove dust, never wipe off with duster or
old cloth, as rubbing with dry cloth will leave minute scratches
on the painted surface, with the result the original lustre/finish
will be lost
Ordinary tap water with rubber bose is the best for washing the
car. Never use water under high pressure as it is likely to push
back the panels. For washing under chassis of car it is advisable
to lift the car and direct water spray under the chassis so that
mud, if sticking can get loosened by the time you finish the body
and later on again direct water under chassis with water pressure,
the mud would get peddled off. Similarly wash wheel rim with liquid
soap and brush.
For washing of body start washing from the top and bommet and
sides, later on while washing use rubber sponges never rub the
surface while washing down , but adopt the principle of flowing
the dirt off with plenty of water. From time to time squeeze the
sponge to release the dirt collected, later on wipe out the traces
of water, otherwise light spots and stains will be left on the
body. Before washing first check- up if there are any tar stains
on the body which are usually found when car is run on newly built
road, these should be removed with a cloth soaked with petrol.
Never use petrol liberally, only dab the cloth and cover the tared
portion and later on clean the portion with dry cloth. While washing
remember remember not to start washing the car immediately after
it has come from a long journey as the bonnet could be hot and
by poring water it may loose its original lusture. Never ever
use hot water as it will also effect the paint. It is suggested
that every month after washing and cleaning, polish the car, for
that put polishing wax on soft cloth and apply it to the body.
After short time polish the body with a piece of soft cloth by
rubbing it.
